Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!!

So my roommate and I are now backing fiends. We have a gas stove/oven in our house- but you have to light each burner when you want to use it (there is no pilot light). That’s not a big deal for the stovetop, but we were scared of the oven. We were pretty much sure we were going to blow the house up (we tried to light it a few times, but it out smarted us each time!!) because if you don’t get it lit right away, the kitchen starts to fill with gas and one of our friends did manage to blow her stove sky high. But it was our friend’s 4th anniversary this week and we said we would make a cake for them, so we were determined to no longer live in fear of the oven!

And we were successful! The house is still intact and the cake was delicious- so we are now baking super stars. We then went on to bake chocolate muffins and scones just because we can! Our next adventure is to make Thanksgiving Dinner for 8 of our Kenyan friends on Monday in honor of Canadian Thanksgiving. We may have over estimated our new-found abilities. I guess we’ll see!!
